I had high hopes for this book and enjoyed it up to the first 120 pages. However, after that it kind of fell flat. It was super slow for the rest of the novel (mostly) and then the last 30-50 pages everything came to a head and the action happened.
The author had super long and drawn out paragraphs that seemed pretty unnecessary. I appreciate description and all that but I felt like the author took it too far.
I did like the premise of the story but once I figured out what was driving the plot (around pg 120) it started feeling anti-climatic and I stopped caring about the novel and the characters.
I gave this novel 2.5 out of 5 stars.
