Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin

I tend to really enjoy books that deal with alternate history so I had high expectations with this book. I did think it would be different than a lot of the other books I had read about this subject because Yael is a skinshifter which adds a supernatural element. I was a little ambivalent about that aspect of the story but I did think the way the author introduces that part of the story was done well.

Overall I thought the book was good. It definitely read like a YA novel but that did not detract from the novel as a whole. I still Thoroughly enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next book.

I liked how all of the characters introduced seemed to have a strong personality and presence. Sometimes authors introduce characters and they end up falling to the sidelines due to the strength of another character. I felt that the three core characters were strong throughout the novel.

The ending, for me, was kind of predictable. Something that happened early on in the novel led me to predict the ending. I don’t, necessarily mind that fact though, even though I was able to predict the ending I was still left wondering what is going to happen next.

All in all I really enjoyed this novel and I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
