This book was absolutely amazing! I started it yesterday and couldn’t put it down. I was swept up in the story from the very first page. I don’t read a lot of books about this topic and am starting to realize that I should.

The love story in this novel was amazingly cute. I was so happy for Amanda but at the same time I was scared for her because I was unsure if her secret was going to come out. I don’t, generally, like love stories but this one had a lot of different elements that led to me falling in love with it.

The complexity of the characters was amazing as well. Usually I don’t like stories that are written about the LGBTQ community because they are generic and stereotypical. This book seemed different and that might be due to the fact that it is an own voices novel. I don’t take everything in this novel as fact because it is fictional but I believe that some of the experiences that the author wrote about Amanda were genuine.

I am actually really sad that the novel ended the way it did. I want there to be more to this story because I loved Grant and Amanda so much. I doubt there will be a continuation so I’ll have to imagine what happens next in my head.

This novel will probably stay with me for a while. I give this novel 5 out of 5 stars.
