There might be one or two spoilers in this review. However, I don’t really see them as a spoiler because it’s revealed within the first few chapters.
This book was good or, I might say, the last two parts of the book were good. I love the cliffhanger that it ended on and while I have said in my goodreads updates that I wasn’t going to jump right into the third book, I lied. I have the third book out and ready to go and it’s all because of the cliffhanger.
However, a book should not take so long to spark interest. I don’t think it really got to the whole premise of this book until page 342 or something like that. If my boyfriend hadn’t bought me all three books I probably would have given up on the book because it was slow and kind of boring.
It focuses mainly on Lila and who/what she is and why she was able to survive. It focuses on what Tieren said about Lila having power in her. This book was simply build up for the third book and it was not done in a way that kept me interested.
There is a magic and intrigue in this book and a magical competition but that wasn’t interesting to me. I loved the relationships in this book. I love Alucard Emery and I hope to see more of him in the third book. But, this novel could have been better. It should have been less boring.
I give this book 3.5 out of 5 stars. It was originally going to be lower but the ending brought it up. Basically, for me, it was all about sticking it through till the end where you were bombarded with amazing things and an awesome cliffhanger.
