The Well of Ascension by Brandon San

This review might contain spoilers for book one. I absolutely loved this book. I loved how it picked up a bit of time after the last book ended. I was intrigued by this novel from the very beginning and could help but read more. Had I not been recovering from surgery I probably would have finished it relatively sooner than I did.

The characters in this novel are amazing. You grow to love them and care about them. You spend hours reading about the characters and you start investing feelings into them. I absolutely love how this novel changes prospective. While Vin and Elend are probably considered the main characters, the story doesn’t just focus on their perspective. I love books that have multiple perspectives and I thought that Sanderson does it well.

I also love how unpredictable the novel is. You don’t know what is going to happen next. You have a guess but that guess almost always turns out to be wrong. One of the few novels that has kept me guessing.
