I want to say that while I was reading this book I was in the hospital so my attention span was not as good as it normally is when I read books.
I enjoyed this book quite a lot but I thought the first half was pretty bland. It seemed like nothing all that exciting happened during the first half which was kind of disappointing. However, after making it through the first half the second half picked up and I was really enjoying myself. I did feel like a big portion of the plot was predictable though which was kind of disappointing. However, I thought the writing of this book was really good. It pulled me in and didn’t let go. There were some grammatical errors that I noticed but they were not too big of an issue. This is actually the first Victoria Schwab book that I have read and I was a little nervous about liking her work because of how much hype she has gotten all over the place.
I believe that this book is part of a duology and I am excited for the second book to come out so I can see how the story ends. The author left a lot of questions open at the end of the book but, luckily, I don’t have to wait long for the second book to come out.
I will definitely be reading more of this author’s work and I give this book a 3.5 out of 5 stars.
